2024 Dwarf fortress clothing industry - The best solution I've seen is to assign every single dwarf to a squad give them a "civilian" uniform made of metal or leather armor, replacing clothing. Since armor doesn't wear out, you can stop cloth production entirely. And as long as you have your squads inactive, they should go about their normal duties.
